Caltech Space Society Telescope Project

Caltech Space Society will begin building a telescope this year. It will be used both for star parties and for educating local high schoolers about astronomy. Devon McClain, a freshman in astronomy, is leading up the project.

We will be building an 18" Dobsonian. The project has been broken down into three work groups: Structure, Lens, and Tracking.

This is the type of telescope we will be building. The scale is fairly close to what ours will be, also.
