To: KD4ETA, W0SL From: ZL1MO 29/10/98 20:00 UTC. Hi Dennis & Roy, Herewith two small KISS files I was able to collect from SEDSAT earlier today 29th. These are from passes I monitored starting 0202/0349/0536 UTC. The equipment here uses an analogue AFC driving click steps on my 70cm RX (TR851A) as there is no CAT capability. Because of the 1sec click steps the short duration of the regular 1 minute transmissions mean that I sometimes don't get RX tuning optimum during the burst of data. When I do get signals they are usually strong so I get some data. In my situation I still use PB as I dont find WISP of any value, as my PC is running my antenna switch control program plus PB, both running under DOS and I havn't enough memory to run Windows and hands too shaky to use a mouse reliably! I use electronic antenna steering of a variety of horiz & vertical antennas as I have heavy obstruction by bush in some cases up to over 20deg el in parts of the compass, plus some high houses close by, and the antennas are distributed all around the house roof to get a view in specific areas! Not ideal QTH but I have been working satellites since Oscar 1! Will have another go today UTC 30th, and might do better this time. 73 Irving ZL1MO (AMSAT-ZL) @ AO-16/KO-23/KO-25/FO-29 & @ ZL1AB.#11.NZL.OC AMSAT-NA 8365 - AMSAT-UK 2061 - AMSAT-VK - ARRL - Satellite Editor NZART. ***Active on HAMSATS since OSCAR-1***
