Minutes of the Team Mentors' Meeting on 18 February 1999 Place: ECE 202 Meeting started shortly after 3:15 PM Present: Alberding, Chen, Fasse, Hsieh, Schooley, and Tharp Absent: Carothers, Fink, Lewicki, and Wing The meeting followed the list of items distributed earlier. 1. Meet Jon Alberding 2. Hal and Hsieh will meet with the Science Team to find out their if they will need any help to find a successor to Thome. 3. The DoEd proposal, an idea introduced to the group by Wing, has a deadline on 26 March. Hal and Hsieh will ask Wing to join them in preparing the proposal. 4. Fasse will be in touch with Greg Chatel, GNC TL, concerning the Honeywell visit. It is hoped that all TMs and their respective teams could participate. 5. Wing was not present to discuss his idea about a new pitch to NASA based on the Honeywell model. 6. Hsieh expressed his enthusiasm for TMs to attend the EELV symposium, an announcement forwarded to us by Dean Levy. Reservations are due on 19 march and the meeting is on 31 March. Hsieh suggested that perhaps the existing funds from CoEM might be tapped for this purpose. 7. In response to Hsieh's comments on possibilities of sending a TM-TL pair to civil organizations through the Speakers Bureau to raise scholarship funds, Schooley suggested that Alberding be given the task of composing a half-hour presentation package based on the information contained in the recent Winter Progress Review for such a purpose. The suggestion was adopted. 8. Schooley handed out to each team the set of information on transducers, first of a series, compiled by the students taking his senior design course. No further business was presented. The next meeting should be on 4 March. Meeting adjourned at 16:00.
