Minutes of the Team Mentors' Meeting on 4 March 1999
Place:  ECE 202
Meeting started shortly after 3:30 PM
Present: Alberding, Fasse, Fink, Hsieh, Lewicki, Schooley, and Wing 
Absent: Carothers, Chen, and Tharp 


1. Alberding reported on the building of the systems Integration (SI) Team.  
Representative or liaison from each team can form the basis, but someone from 
Systems Engineering maybe ideal to lead the team.  Due to workload, the liaison 
from each team should not be the TL. 

2. Fasse reported on the plan for the visit to Honeywell on Friday, 5 March.  
Non-disclosure agreement does not seen to post any problem.  Wing will follow it 
up with the Research Office.   

3. Discussion on the SI Team continued.  Schooley suggested that the students 
taking his design class could be encouraged to participate in the SI Team.  
Carothers, Schooley and Wing have started to discuss the CPU configuration.  
Hsieh will contact Mirchandani of SIE for a TM and a TL for the SI Team.

4. The apparent disarray of the SCI Team will be addressed by a meeting between 
Fink and Collins, SCI TL, and possibly one or two senior SCI team members.  That 
meeting will be followed by a visit of Alberding and some other mentors to the 
SCI team meeting.  Hsieh will talk with some of the potential replacements for 
Thome.  

5. Wing will lead the effort of writing the proposal to DoEd, deadline 26 March 
1999.  Student, David Schaenman, recommended by Wing is hired to help with 
proposal writing and related work later at a rate of $10/hr and 10-20 hours per 
week.  Hsieh will make the arrangement.

No further business was presented.  No meeting will be held during the spring 
break.

Meeting adjourned shortly after 16:30.
